Gyeonggi Province announced on September 6 that it signed an MOU for mutual cooperation between China’s leading VR developer community association and the Gyeonggi Content Agency, which will host VR Awards. Gyeonggi Province is participating in the VR/AR corporate development project based on the private/government partnership, NRP (Next Reality Partners, NRP) and is a global leading company to support the local VR/AR companies.
VRCORE is a leading VR developer community in China, with over 3,000 developers and 500 companies currently active, and has strategic partnerships and global networks with China and global VR companies. In particular, the VRCORE Awards, which will be held in October this year, marks the third time this year, consists of a total of 17 areas of VR/AR contents, a global Hackathon Competition and a conference. In particular, the conference will seek opportunities for cooperation among VR developers from both countries through a special session with the NRP, the business development project of the Gyeonggi Content Agency.
The special session <VRCORE X NRP> is meant to provide substantial mutual support for entry into the markets of both countries through cross-border exchange and cooperation. To that end, the special session <VRCORE X NRP> will select representative companies with content that can enter China. They will participate in VR core distribution and display individual showcase events. Among them, China’s judges will select the best companies that are likely to enter the Chinese market and support VRCORE and NRP to work together in China. Also, among Chinese companies that have won and participated in VRCORE Awards, business cooperation and market advancement in Korea were selected by Gyeonggi Province, and invited to participate in the evaluation of VR/AR supported companies on November 30. Through this, we will participate in representative VR events of both countries and will continue to work together to derive visible results through a variety of support possible.
“The VR/AR industry can make breakthroughs in related industries only through a global win-win strategy, not through competition,” an official from Gyeonggi Content Agency said.
